The Importance of Puppy Socialization
Puppies need socailization to become better well rounded adult dogs. It helps with their social skills,

Who can participate?
~ Puppies age 2 months of age & older
What will your puppy learn?
~ How to have manners while socializing
and playing with other puppies, dogs & people.
What does the Class teach you and your puppy?
~ How to deal with different situations
with the appropriate response demonstrated
by you and your puppy.
~ that the owner is the Boss and "Alpha Dog"
~ Watch Me, Sit, Down, walking on a loose leash

we used to avoid confusion
down the road when Heel was taught.)

This class will be based on a lot of puppy play, interaction with other puppies and people. The puppies'
behavior will be rewarded with treats and lots of praise, and even a toy.
Requirements for the Class
1. We used a buckle collar only, no other type of collar, except perhaps a harness for those breeds that
need them, but absolutely no training with pinch collars.
2. Students must bring a chair, a towel or carpet remnant, bathmat or whatever for the puppy to lay on,
plus water and its food which is used as training rewards. This is to avoid tummy issues so we use the
pups kibble .
3. **All puppies MUST be Up to Date on vaccines appropriate for their age.**

The S.T.A.R. AKC Puppy Program is a program for puppies to earn a certificate. I am thinking about offering it in this class
A non-refundable Puppy Deposit is preferred to see how many puppies are attending the class. The $20.00 goes towards the total cost of the class on the 1st class day.
